TELUS 4G LTE Certifies Red Lion’s IndustrialPro® Cellular Routers and RAM® 6000 Cellular RTUs

Red Lion Controls, the global experts in communication, monitoring and control for industrial automation and networking, today announced the recent availability of 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) support on the TELUS cellular network for its Sixnet® series IndustrialPro® cellular routers and RAM® 6000 cellular RTUs. As one of the fastest-growing telecommunications and largest healthcare IT providers in Canada, TELUS offers a wide range of communications products and services that include wireless, data, Internet protocol (IP), voice, television, entertainment and video.

Manufacturing and industrial organizations are transitioning from static, fixed infrastructures to dynamic, high-performance networks that serve as the platform for a growing number of connected devices across multiple locations. With 4G LTE wireless connectivity, industrial networking users can leverage increased data speeds for primary or backup WAN connectivity. LTE devices typically feature data rates up to 100 times faster than legacy 2G network technologies, making it well suited for remote sites, video surveillance applications and remote automation environments.

“We are proud to offer additional LTE support in Canada for our cellular M2M IndustrialPro and RAM 6000 products,” said Paul Bunnell, product director, process automation for Red Lion. "This new TELUS certification expands on Red Lion’s unwavering dedication to provide the market with reliable, high-quality devices that combine the power of LTE with rugged performance. Our technology supports fast access to data and video, enabling customers to achieve data rates that were once only available through the use of wired connections.”

Red Lion’s Sixnet series IndustrialPro cellular routers and RAM cellular RTUs provide fast, secure and economical wireless connectivity to remote locations and assets while offering reliable service from 4G or 3G connectivity in a single solution. As a primary WAN connection or a backup to existing network links, these cellular routers and RTUs are suited for harsh industrial environments such as oil and gas, energy and water/wastewater applications where security and reliability is paramount.
