Trix Organizer Features Upgraded Component Module

Trix Systems has upgraded the component management module for its Trix Organizer engineering document management software. The Trix Organizer module now displays both documents and equipment records in a common interface. Users can find answers to requests such as 'Show me all the equipment purchased under this AFE' and 'Show me all the drawings and documents associated with this equipment'. They can also start with specific drawings to make requests such as 'Show me all the pieces of equipment that require this drawing'. The Trix Organizer's primary function is to enable end users to directly find the drawings and other documents they need, without having to ask for help. At the same time, the system controls edits and releases. It prevents accidental duplications and ensures that only one editor can make changes to a file at any time. Flow-Chemistry System Has Upgraded Pump Manifold

The Uniqsis Flowsyn flow-chemistry system has an upgraded pump manifold that continuously monitors each high-pressure reagent channel and alerts the user to any flow abnormalities. With the reagent manifold used in Flowsyn, the pump can be re-primed on the fly, so that the run can continue. Interlocks are provided so that if the error is not remedied within a specified period, the experiment is aborted. If an error condition is detected in one pump channel, the other is automatically stopped simultaneously until the problem is dealt with. Improved automatic injection valves are also available for Flowsyn, with highly inert rotor seals and larger-diameter channels that allow sample loops to be filled more quickly and are less easily blocked. Pilz Automation Technology has launched the PSS4000 automation system and PAS4000 software suite that it says will provide a new way to design, program and implement automation. The company said a key feature of the concept is the integration of safety, standard and motion control, as well as visualisation and diagnostics, with all data conveyed via a Safetynet p Ethernet-based industrial fieldbus network. In addition, the software suite enables all aspects of an automation project to be accessed via a single interface. Pilz said the PSS4000 takes decentralisation to a new level by way of the close integration of all aspects and the way in which configuration and programming is carried out via a single Pilz automation suite - the PAS4000 - which provides centralised access to the decentralised system.
