Mott To Exhibit All-Metal Spargers At Interphex

Mott will be displaying all-metal spargers and filter designs focusing on the biopharm industry at Interphex 2010 on 20-22 April at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York. Mott will be featuring a quick-change sparger design that reduces the time it takes to replace sparger elements in bioreactors and fermentors. The quick-change sparger is configured with an adapter that allows easy assembly to the mating sparger tip and easy removal for replacement after each batch. This eliminates the need to re-weld the tip or clean the entire assembly. After each batch, a new tip can be installed on the end of the assembly and is ready for steam-in-place operation. The sparger tip can also be cleaned externally, utilising a number of methods including ultrasonic cleaning or detergent and water flush. These spargers are durable and corrosion resistant, and the porosity of the media provides good mass-transfer efficiency throughout the tank. Mott will also display its cartridge filters fo...

Image
Mott will display filtration products, flow control solutions and porous-metal technology at the MDandM West tradeshow, which is due to take place in Anaheim, California, on 9-11 February 2010. According to the company, which will be found on Booth 3,185 at the event, products using porous metal offer good performance, a long life and accuracy. Some products currently utilising porous metal include various implantable devices, filters to prevent the plugging of catheters, drug-delivery devices, medical instrumentation, sparging devices for cell-culture processing and gas-flow-restrictor devices for gas delivery in life-critical systems. Mott's products are made using a variety of metal alloys to meet the requirements of several demanding applications. The primary alloys used for medical devices are titanium and 316L stainless steels. Porous metal also offers a number of environmental benefits, according to the company; for example, mott-sintered porous-metal media can be completel...
