Marktech Introduces Photo Sensor Devices

Marktech Optoelectronics has added a complete line of photo sensor devices to its optoelectronic components. Specialising in metal can and precision epoxy packages, Marktech has added package styles, materials and custom capabilities to its LED line. Marktech also offers many standard configurations and lens options as well as custom designs and assemblies. Marktech said its engineering group can provide solutions for some of the most difficult sensor applications. The company added that its range of photo sensors feature: 3mm, 5mm, metal can and ceramic packages; wide range of power output; visible emitters available in red (660nm), amber (590nm), green (520nm), blue (465nm) and white (x=0.31, y=0.32); water clear glass and plastic lens; high efficiency and reliability; plus precise optical and mechanical accuracy.

Marktech Unveils Surface-Mount Point-Source LED

Marktech Optoelectronics has introduced the MTPS4088MC surface-mount point-source light-emitting diode (LED). The MTPS4088MC is designed to deliver consistent performance in demanding environments where space constraints are an issue. The 880nm point-source LED features a 3.5 x 0.94 x 2.2mm package with a flat epoxy lens and a typical power output of 2.0mW. Developed primarily for optical-encoder, optical-switch, scanning and precision-edge sensing applications, this +/-10 point-source LED utilises an LED die configuration, which provides an unobstructed, radiated-beam pattern by masking the die and relocating the topside electrode. By eliminating the 'dark spot' typically associated with the centre of conventional LEDs, the point-source LED yields good results when used with application-specific optics to obtain the desired radiation pattern characteristics, according to the company. The device also offers a low thermal coefficient. In addition to its newest surface-mount pac...

Marktech Offers LEDs For Traffic/Sign Applications

Marktech Optoelectronics has added Toshiba's TLxK series red and amber LEDs to its range. The TLxK series incorporates colour, brightness and radiation patterns that are suited for traffic and sign applications. These include traffic-management systems, traffic signals, pedestrian signals, variable message signs, indoor message signs and outdoor advertising applications. Luminous intensities are up to 12,900mcd on the red model and 23,000mcd on the amber. This allows designers to reduce power consumption while maintaining a high level of brightness. TLxK red and amber LEDs are available in a 5mm round package with viewing angles of 23 and 30.
