TDK-Lambda Introduces the “EVA Series” Standard Power Supplies Designed Exclusively for Recharging of Large Capacity Rechargeable Batteries

TDK-Lambda Corporation (President : Yoshiaki Hirota, Head Office : Nihonbashi, Chuoku, Tokyo), a group company of TDK Corporation, has developed the “EVA series” standard power supplies designed exclusively for recharging of large capacity rechargeable batteries. The EVA product family, consisting of 150 VDC, 300 VDC and 600 VDC types, can meet a wide range of customer requirements. Order taking for 300 VDC will commence on April 30. Other models will be available shortly after.

Today, there are more and more systems and applications that take advantage of high capacity rechargeable batteries such as smart grid, electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, etc. In addition, demand for emergency power source based on rechargeable batteries is beginning to increase reflecting people's concern about power shortage that may result from shut down of nuclear power stations. In response to such needs of customers, TDK-Lambda has developed the “EVA series” standard power supplies designed exclusively for recharging of large capacity rechargeable batteries.

There are a wide variety of rechargeable battery systems ranging from small to large in capacity. The “EVA series” power supplies are built-in type AC-DC power supplies having maximum output power of 2.4 kW. They deliver 100 - 600 VDC output that is needed for high capacity rechargeable battery systems of over 10 kWh output for industrial use. They can handle recharging of a wide range of rechargeable batteries including lithium ion batteries.
