UV Lenses Available in Custom Designs

Resolve Optics offers a service for the custom design and supply of small batches of high-performance ultraviolet (UV) lenses that are claimed to be capable of fulfilling demanding applications. According to the company, UV lenses can often be very expensive and it can be difficult to find a lens that matches specific requirements. Often, customers have come to Resolve Optics because off-the-shelf UV lenses do not match their UV intensifier/sensor, resulting in a significant loss in throughput, resolution or even the spectral range covered.

Resolve Optics designs optical elements out of synthetically fused silica or UV-grade calcium fluoride to provide the best possible transmission in the UV range (10-400Nm). Using proprietary UV anti-reflection multi-layer coatings, the company achieves wide spectral coverage (230-500Nm) and offers greater than 99 per cent transmission per surface.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
