ESAB Cooljet Cutting Torch Cuts Mild Steel

ESAB Cutting Systems has announced that its Cooljet high-performance oxy-fuel cutting torch is now available in a low-priced conversion package. The Cooljet torch is said to be well suited to a fully automated cutting process. It is described as a particularly robust cutting torch and features an integrated oxygen cooling system to ensure productivity, economy and operating safety.

While the heating flame heats the raw material to ignition point, a small amount of heating oxygen flows via the coolflow valve through the cutting channel, which cools the cutting nozzle efficiently and prevents hot gases from rising into the cutting channel. The Cooljet is suitable for use on all flame-cutting machines and by converting to it, users will also benefit from easy maintenance and a torch and nozzle life up to two times longer than with conventional torches, ESAB said.

Production time is saved with preheating times up to 30 per cent and higher cutting speeds. In addition, operational safety is assured even when piercing holes. As part of a partnership agreement, companies can take advantage of the ESAB Cutting Systems exchange system, returning old torches and receiving new Cooljet for a favourable exchange price.
