Emerson Transmitter Now Includes MVD Technology

Emerson Process Management has upgraded the Micro Motion 9739 transmitter, suitable for monitoring and process control applications, to include multivariable digital (MVD) technology. Existing users are supported with a retrofit kit that provides a cost-effective upgrade path. MVD technology provides high-speed signal processing, embedded in electronics, to deliver measurement accuracy in tough conditions.

The front-end digital processing MVD technology offers reduced signal noise while delivering a faster response time to improve the overall measurement quality. The retrofit kit brings the benefits of MVD technology to existing nine-wire Micro Motion Coriolis flowmeters and density meters. The kit, which can be installed in minutes, utilises the existing housing and avoids the need for any piping or wiring changes.

The new 9739 MVD retrofit kit has the same outputs as the previous RFT9739 transmitters and uses the same base housing, thus providing a fast, cost-effective way to upgrade to MVD technology. Using an existing Micro Motion Coriolis sensor, an upgrade to the 9739 transmitter with MVD will deliver a 2x improvement in turndown for users. The upgrade is also available for field-mounted versions of the transmitter, housed in a Nema 4X (IP65) enclosure. The Micro Motion Model 9739 transmitter with MVD technology has Atex, CSA-US and UL approvals.
